🚨 Tag someone who’s ready for this challenge!
Everyone talks about the interview. Nobody talks about what happens after you get the job.
Here`s what your first year on the hall actually looks like:
🟡 Month 1: You`re the new probie. You clean gear, you learn names, you stay quiet and absorb everything. The senior crew is watching how you carry yourself — not just what you know.
🟡 Month 3: You start getting real calls. Your training kicks in, but nothing fully prepares you for the weight of it. You debrief. You ask questions. You lean on your crew.
🟡 Month 6: The hall starts to feel like a second home. You know who takes their coffee black, who does the apparatus check without being asked, who you want beside you on a working fire.
🟡 Year 1: You`re still learning. You`ll be learning for the rest of your career. That`s not a weakness — that`s the job.
The first year is hard. It`s also the one you`ll talk about for the rest of your career.
If you`re in the process right now — save this. You`re going to want to remember why you started.

👥 Know someone who’d make a great firefighter? Tag them below!
Before the badge, most recruits have the same question — the one nobody really asks out loud:
"Am I actually going to fit in?"
Hall culture is real. And it`s not what the movies show.
It`s not all pranks and war stories. It`s shift cooks, apparatus checks, slow Thursday afternoons, and being the probie who does everything twice.
It`s learning that your crewmates will one day trust you with their life — and that trust starts with the small things. Showing up early. Listening more than you talk. Asking good questions. Knowing where the gear lives.
The halls that people stay in for 30 years? They`re built on that. On the probie who paid attention.
That`s the version of you already being built right now.

What`s one thing you wish someone had told you about hall culture before you got hired? Drop it below — the recruits reading this need to hear it.
